Even those unfamiliar with the Bible can quote the proverb, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” We may not agree with other parents’ decisions on how to raise children, but we can identify with the desire for children to have more than their parents ever had.

We pray for Mohammed and others like him. Give his parents and his nanny grace and wisdom as they guide him into adulthood. Help them find the balance between raising a citizen of the world who also honors his family’s traditions and cultural heritage.

Use those close to Mohammed to speak Truth and guide him in healthy choices, and even more so in righteousness. Transform his ego and sense of entitlement into generosity and compassion. Help him understand the eternal life he is entitled to because of the price Jesus paid for him.

Be lifted high in the darkness around Mohammed, Lord, and draw Mohammed to Yourself. May he follow in the footsteps of Jesus, growing in wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52).
