MEDIA IMPACT
Pray that the Bible, other literature, and videos would find its way into the hands of Qataris and that Christian media (satellite TV, radio, Internet, etc.) would have greater impact.

Qatar’s capital city of Doha is headquarters to major news and current affair broadcaster Al Jazeera. Initially launched as a satellite TV channel, Al Jazeera has expanded to include the internet and specialty TV channels in multiple languages. As of 2007, the Arabic Al Jazeera channel claimed an estimated 40 to 50 million viewers, while Al Jazeera English estimated 100 million households. Al Jazeera has proven willing to broadcast dissenting views—or at least walk the fine line between objectivity and audience appeal—regarding coverage of news events, and even issues of morality and religion. While this has created great controversy, Al Jazeera…
Access is generally the greatest challenge in sharing the Gospel and planting the Church in Qatar. Thankfully, across the Arab world, we can send materials to places where we can’t always send people. The Bible is available in several versions in Arabic. Anti-proselytism laws cannot prevent gospel radio, TV, and Christian websites from penetrating the homes and hearts of those living in Qatar. Many Arabic-language websites, chat rooms and programs seem to have a powerful effect. We believe in the transformative power of the Scriptures. We believe in the power of God to illuminate meaning and create understanding, whether or…
As you read this psalm, pray these things: That God’s way would be made known in Qatar That all who live in Qatar would come to praise Him That people in Qatar would worship Jesus as Lord That God would bless Qatari believers Psalm 67 1 May God be merciful and bless us. May his face smile with favor on us. Interlude 2 May your ways be known throughout the earth, your saving power among people everywhere. 3 May the nations praise you, O God. Yes, may all the nations praise you. 4 Let the whole world sing for joy, because you govern the nations…
Pray for Qataris to be open to the message of the Gospel, to have divine encounters with other believers, to have dreams and visions from God and for forms of media that reach into places where individuals and groups cannot. “Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions. In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants—men and women alike.” –Joel 2:28-29 Pray that the Holy Spirit would be poured out…
Throughout the world, missionary efforts are often paired with a “cup of cold water”—compassionately meeting physical needs in Jesus’ name, and sharing the Gospel by those means. In Qatar, there is no need for a social gospel. Qatar, the richest country in the world, is engaged in its own philanthropic pursuits. However, the lack of apparent physical need doesn’t mean there is not a spiritual need. Access is perhaps the greatest challenge in reaching this UPG (Unreached People Group). Since Qataris make up only 15% of the nation’s population, connecting with them isn’t easy and its expensive for Christian workers…
