Speak Lord

“Prayer is nourished and flourishes when it is firmly rooted in the creative and redemptive word of the living God.” – Eugene Peterson

Today, as we pray for Qatar, start your prayers by asking God to give you a Scripture to pray from. Read through the Scripture three times slowly, asking God to show you how to turn that Scripture into a prayer. An example:

“I don’t think the way you think.
The way you work isn’t the way I work.”
God’s Decree.
“For as the sky soars high above earth,
so the way I work surpasses the way you work,
and the way I think is beyond the way you think.
Just as rain and snow descend from the skies
and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth,
Doing their work of making things grow and blossom,
producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry,
So will the words that come out of my mouth
not come back empty-handed.
They’ll do the work I sent them to do,
they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.
—Isaiah 55:8-11 (from The Message)

Father God, today I thank you that Your ways are higher than mine, and your plans for Qatar are better than mine. I praise You that You are at work in that land. I thank you for all the Bibles that are in that land, and I ask that those who own them will read them today. I pray that You will speak to them through Your Word today. To encourage. To teach and correct. To bring people to faith in Jesus Christ. I thank you for all the times the Gospel message has been shared in Qatar, and I trust that Your Word will not return void. I pray that fruit will come from every seed that has been sown. In the name of Jesus, I speak life to every seed. I ask You to protect those seeds, and cause them to take root, and begin to grow. I thank you that each time someone speaks about Jesus in Qatar, or each time someone hears about Jesus on the television or radio, that there is an assignment that those words have in the life of the hearer. I pray that You, oh God, will cause that assignment to be completed. Thank you that you are returning one day for a Church that includes the believers of Qatar.qatar people walking
