The Fruit of the Spirit

“Prayer is nourished and flourishes when it is firmly rooted in the creative and redemptive word of the living God.” – Eugene Peterson

Today, as we pray for Qatar, start your prayers by asking God to give you a Scripture to pray from. Read through the Scripture three times slowly, asking God to show you how to turn that Scripture into a prayer. An example:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” —Galatians 5:22-23

Father, I pray today that your Church in Qatar would bear much spiritual fruit. Where there is disagreement and disunity, may Your love bring healing. May your kindness and goodness towards us cause Believers to extend grace towards each other. Where there are attempts to bring reconciliation, we pray that joy and peace and forgiveness may reign. Father, I ask you to pour out self-control on your Believers. May they not seek to serve their own needs, but seek to serve others first. Thank you that where the Holy Spirit is at work, these fruit are the evidence. I pray that there would be good teaching on the fruit of the spirit. I ask that Believers will know and experience the Love of God afresh today. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
